The Department of Life Sciences is home to some of Taiwan’s finest researchers and educators, all sharing the same passion for equipping undergraduate students for advanced studies and helping them succeed. The undergraduate curriculum covers many aspects of biology, such as cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, physical biochemistry, bioinformatics, structural biology, genomics and proteomics. Advanced students may also register for graduate-level courses. The Department also encourages its students to actively engage in research, by conducting independent Research Projects at the laboratory of their choice. Students entering their senior year are encouraged to participate in summer research programs at outstanding laboratories abroad or to study abroad via short-term international student exchange programs.
